Parents' Weekend
Welcome! The deans and faculty of the School of Foreign Service invite the parents of students in the classes of 2012 and 2013 to attend the School's annual Parents' Weekend, October 16-18, 2009.
Parents' Weekend is a wonderful opportunity for you to share in the Georgetown experience. During this weekend you will learn more about the curricular and co-curricular options available to students during their next two years in the School of Foreign Service.
Challenges and Opportunities
Freshman year is a time of transition, both academically and socially for our students. These challenges, and the new opportunities that go with them, will be explored through seminars and open fora that focus on the first-year experience.
Sophomore year is also an exciting and challenging time. This is when students choose their majors, make decisions about certificate and joint-degree programs, consider overseas study options, and begin thinking about life after graduation.
Because we would like to involve parents in these important decisions, we hope you will be able to join us for the weekend and explore together with your son or daughter the many options which are available.
More information...
We look forward to seeing you in October for what promises to be an informative and enjoyable weekend. The School of Nursing and Health Studies, the McDonough School of Business, and the College of Arts and Sciences will also host their parents on this weekend.
