The Company: Aragon is the private investment office of Anne Dias, and the successor entity to Aragon Global Management, a long short hedge fund focusing on international equities. Aragon Global Management was seeded by Julian Robertson of the Tiger Fund in 2001 and became one of the largest hedge funds managed and started by a woman. Ms. Dias was formerly a portfolio manager at Soros Fund and a senior analyst at Viking Global. She is a graduate of the Harvard Business School and Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. The fund invests in US and European equities, with a focus on the internet/tech, consumer and financials sectors. With offices in Chicago and Paris, Aragon is expanding its team in long/short equities.
The Position: Aragon is looking for an Equity Research Associate to conduct company and industry due diligence using primary research. The position reports directly to Ms. Dias, the Founder and CEO. Aragon is hiring for this position both in its Chicago and Paris office. The Associate will participate in Aragon’s training program covering investment analysis, trading and industry research. As a member of the Aragon team, the Analyst will work in a stimulating and fast-paced environment, and be exposed to the most sophisticated and modern money-management practices.
Requirements: The candidate will perform due diligence, model financial statements and write research summaries for the CEO. Experience in investment banking or investment analysis, as well as knowledge of the US/Europe TMT, consumer and financial sectors is a plus but not a requirement. While no prior experience in investing is required, the candidate must have an outstanding record of academic achievement and a proven interest in the financial markets. The candidate must be willing to travel extensively in the US, UK and France to attend conferences and conduct due diligence of existing and potential investments. He or she must be comfortable working with a diverse team, independently (and more often than not, remotely) from the CEO. The candidate must be high energy and comfortable working in a small team where he or she can move the needle with their actions. An independent thinker who can bring a different perspective on investment opportunities will do well and have an immediate impact on the portfolio. The candidate must have impeccable communication skills, both in written and verbal form. Strong knowledge of French is a plus.
Salary and Incentives: Competitive salary and incentive pay. Please send your resume and a cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please attach a recent example of a research topic that you wrote up. It need not be in the investment space but it must provide an illustration of how you can analyze a topic and explain an argument.
