CERES Receives SSRC Grant
The Center for Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies (CERES) was recently awarded a Social Science Research Council grant as part of the Council’s “Academia in the Public Sphere” Program. CERES will use the grant to build a web archive of digital resources on Islam in Eurasia with a focus on the relationship between religion and politics.
The project aims to aggregate and archive voices from the region, which are currently being expressed in various ways on websites and blogs, for the benefit of researchers and future generations. The archive will be available through the web host Archive-it (www.archive-it.org), a subscription service designed to provide permanent access for researchers to a variety of important digital collections. For more information on CERES and its current projects, including this digital archive, please visit ceres.georgetown.edu.
