General James L. Jones (SFS '66) Nominated to be National Security Advisor

General James L. Jones, a 1966 graduate of the School of Foreign Service, has been nominated by President-elect Obama to serve as National Security Advisor. General Jones has previously served as Commandant of the United States Marine Corps and the Supreme Allied Commander Europe. He retired from the Marine Corps in 2007 and at the time of his nomination he was serving as the chairman of the Atlantic Council of the United States.
